Forrester shows you where to get web analytics help
Megan Burns writes about Forresters report into web analytics consultancies;
Our survey of vendor-neutral Web analytics consultants uncovered 91 firms across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. The market is dominated by small firms that average fewer than five full-time consultants. However, these vendors are fairly experienced, reporting an average of four years in the Web analytics field and expertise with a wide range of platforms and industries. Firms looking to improve their use of Web analytics data to boost Web site performance should assign dedicated staff to the effort, then hire an experienced professional services firm to jump-start the learning process and establish a strong foundation on which to build a robust Web measurement platform.
The report was very good, though I still think that ZAAZ is the biggest web analytics speciality firm in the world followed by Satama which is the biggest in Europe. I have difficulty believing the claim that Digitas have 120 web analytics professionals that span all the competences listed. I could say that Satama have close to 500 staff (of which a great many have metrics/analysis experience) but I cannot say that there are 120 of us that intimately know the difference between an active segment and a bounce rate. Before today I’d not even heard that Digitas were in the web analytics space. I’ve never seen or heard of any web analytics professionals from their company at for instance the eMetrics summit.
This little naunce aside the report is very good. You can get a copy by contacting forrester directly.
